Applied Scholastics
Training Centre has built up enormous expertise in the co-ordination and running
of study tours. We offer a variety of Study Tour Programs which combine a functional
English program with an organised schedule of interesting and stimulating excursions
and activities. Some sample itineraries and quotes are included here, but we can
design study tours to meet the particular requirements of your group. Study tours
can be conducted in Sydney or at Penrith which is one hour west of Sydney at the
foot of the Blue Mountains. English Language students
on holiday Junior-High and High School students attend during their
Summer or Winter holiday. Our programs emphasise speaking and listening skills
by using English in a variety of situations which the students will encounter
during their visit to Australia. For instance, 'Safety at the Beach', 'Australian
Animals', 'Shopping', 'Food' etc. Afternoon activities and weekend excursions
are organised to fit in with the morning language program. We can design study
tours for a particular group or school. Photos of our

Teachers/Principals'

**the first category is for English Language Teachers and/or Principals
who are accompanying their students on a holiday study tour and who wish to undertake
an English Language Teaching Development course. These study tours include English
Language and Teaching Methodology; **the second category is for Principals
and Administrators in the field of Education who wish to study the Australian
education system. These students may not necessarily speak English but are researching
the structure and processes of Australian education. For this, they need to bring
a translator with them. These tours are designed according to student requirements;
there are many modules to choose from including Levels of Education, Relationship
of Government to Education, Australian History and Culture and its Relationship
to Education, Teacher Training, Teaching Methodology, Curriculum Development,
Higher Education, etc. A full list can be obtained and modules not required are
omitted from the course. - If teachers are accompanying their students
on a study tour, they will undertake their study in the morning and travel with
their students in the afternoons and weekends.·
- If teachers are on their
own, they will undertake full-time study with weekend travel.
